Union Cabinet approved 4% DA hike for central government employees & pensioners from Jan 2020
With effect from 1 January 2020, the Union Cabinet approved a 4 percent rise in the Dearness Allowance for all categories of Central Government employees and officers under 7th CPC. It is very satisfying news for Central Government Employees about DA and DR rises respectively.
Central government Workers typically earn DA to compensate for rising inflation. Early DA was 17%, and now it is raised from 17% to 21%, adding 4% climb. This will benefit all Central Government employees and pensioners, which ensures that when the salary and pension is transferred to the accounts of the respective beneficiaries in March 2020, they will also earn a 2-month delay (January and February).
